Hidden Belgium: BioBowls

Hidden Belgium: BioBowls

The Palais du Vin was once a wine warehouse in the heart of Brussels’ Marolles district. You can still spot the coats-of-arms of various French wine regions on the façade.

But the vast complex is now a ecological hub with a bio store, bakery, crèche, indoor herb garden and meeting hall.

The latest addition to the complex is an airy restaurant called BioBowls with a relaxed Nordic look and vertical plant wall. The interior incorporates nostalgic elements from the past including stained glass windows decorated with vines and old metal counters.

The menu is inspired by the nutritionist Rachida El Boustati who has designed healthy dishes using fresh, local and bio ingredients. It’s the perfect spot to experience the friendly, diverse and creative vibe of the Marolles.
