Hidden Belgium: Sounds Jazz Club

Hidden Belgium: Sounds Jazz Club

Back in the summer of 1985, Rosy and Sergio created an intimate jazz club in an Ixelles back street. It started out as a rock and blues cafe, but evolved into a cool jazz venue that could almost be in New York.

Some big names in Belgian and international jazz have passed through this laid-back spot, including Philip Catherine, Melanie De Biaso and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.

The club nearly died during the pandemic, but the collective Buen Vivir relaunched it in 2021. With a little help from their friends, they have renovated the old interior, updated the menu and refreshed the drinks list with local Belgian beers.

The agenda is painted on the front window. Check it out (or look online). There is always something interesting happening in this little jazz venue.
