One person was killed in a shooting near a mosque in the Swedish city of Örebro on Friday, police reported in a press release.
Initial reports mentioned two injured, but one of the victims, a 25-year-old, died from his injuries.
According to the police, there was a shootout between two rival gangs.
One of the victims was hit as he was leaving the mosque, where Friday prayers were taking place, according to media reports.
Emergency services and the police arrived at the scene in large numbers. The public was asked to stay away.
Örebro is located in southern Sweden, 200 kilometres west of the capital, Stockholm.
In February, the country's worst shooting took place there when a 35-year-old man shot and killed ten people at an adult education centre before committing suicide.
