The US military announced on Friday that it had shot down several Iranian drones targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Central Command (Centcom), the drones were launched by Iran with the intention of striking commercial ships passing through the critical waterway.
US forces intervened swiftly and successfully downed all the drones in recent hours, ensuring that maritime traffic in the Strait continues to flow without disruption, the statement added.
