Belgium will see a mix of sunshine, heavy showers and possible thunderstorms on Monday according to forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).

The day will begin dry with intervals of sunshine, but cloud cover is expected to increase throughout the morning before rain and locally intense showers arrive during the afternoon.

Temperatures will temporarily rise, reaching up to 23°C in the Campine region and around 18°C in the higher parts of the Ardennes. Winds will be moderate, initially blowing from the south before shifting south-westerly later in the day.

During Monday evening and overnight, the weather system will gradually move eastwards. However, periods of rain and heavy showers are still expected across central and south-eastern Belgium, where thunderstorms remain possible.

Clearer spells will develop from the west later in the night, although isolated showers may linger. Low cloud is expected to persist across much of the Ardennes. Overnight temperatures will fall to between 8°C and 12°C.
