Two hosts of a neo-Nazi podcast sentenced in the UK

Two UK men who ran a neo-Nazi podcast in the United Kingdom have been sentenced to seven and eight years in prison for incitement to commit terrorist acts, the London police announced on Thursday.

Investigations revealed that Tyrone Patten-Walsh, 36, and Christopher Gibbons, 40, produced 21 podcast episodes. Their speeches were filled with “homophobic, racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic and misogynistic” comments, according to Scotland Yard.

At times, they encouraged followers to “commit acts of terrorist violence,” the UK police stated.

Gibbons also created an online library containing hundreds of far-right texts and other content.

He was sentenced on Thursday to eight years in prison by a court in Kingston, southwest of London. The charges included eight counts of encouragement of terrorism and two of dissemination of terrorist publications.

During the trial in June, it was revealed that Gibbons had referred to Archie, son of Prince Harry and his mixed-race wife Meghan Markle, as an “abomination.” He had also said the Duke of Sussex should be "prosecuted" and "legally killed for treason."

Tyrone Patten-Walsh, meanwhile, was sentenced to seven years in prison on eight counts of inciting acts of terrorism.

The content shared by the two defendants is exactly the kind that has the potential to lure vulnerable people - particularly young people - into terrorism, Dominic Murphy, who heads Scotland Yard's Counter Terrorism Command, said in a statement.
