A temporary Flanders road opens in Paris

The new Flanders road was opened in Paris on Sunday, in the presence of the Flemish Minister Ben Wyets. The road will be entirely decorated in Flemish colours from the 5th to the 11th of July. There will also be a friterie and a beer cellar. The road, which is really called rue Androuet, is in the Montmartre area. At the initiative of the Flemish tourist office, businesses also made way for stalls selling products which are typical for North Belgium.

There were five themes: festivals, heritage, food and drink, design and cycling. Sunday’s theme was cycling. Around a hundred people took part in the “Tour of Flanders in Paris bike ride” from Place d’Anvers to Montmartre.
