The Belgian produced “Film of the summer” wins the Grand Prix at Clermont-Ferrand

“The Film of the summer”, a Belgian production by Emmanuel Marre, received the national Grand Prix during the closing ceremony for the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival on Saturday evening. Wallonie Bruxelles Images made the announcement on Sunday.

“The film of the summer” is a film about motorways, tourists in transhumance, concrete picnic tables, queues for the toilet, lukewarm melons and the Carwash. It’s a film about a man who wants to leave and a little boy who stops him. It’s the film of the summer”, says Wallonie Bruxelles Images.

The international Clermont-Ferrand short film festival is one of the biggest short film festivals in the world, by number of attendees. It’s the second biggest cinema festival in France in terms of visitors (public and professional), after Cannes.

Produced in Belgium by Michigan films, “The film of the summer” will also be shown at the Berlinale short film competition this week.
