Locals have been enjoying ice-skating on natural ice at a frozen lake in Leest, in Mechelen, taking advantage of the freezing but sunny conditions on Thursday.
The temperatures are expected to drop to -10 °C across most of the country on Thursday night.
The cold snap that has put Belgium in a deep freeze since the beginning of the week, is expected to end on Sunday.
