Belgium’s Council of Ministers on Friday approved additional funding for the asylum and migration policy for 2021, Minister of State for Asylum and Migration Sammy Mahdi announced on Friday.
The supplementary budget is linked to a governmental agreement on a “humane and resolute” asylum policy, and amounts to €50 million, Minister Mahdi said in a press release. The budget will mainly be used to recruit additional staff. To this end, there will be a temporary reinforcement of recruitment agency Selor.
Niet langer enkel een velletje papier afgeven, maar een echt aanklampend beleid. Met extra personeel voor asielprocedure, begeleiding, vrijwillige en gedwongen terugkeer. https://t.co/5mtCv2mUcZ

“A flexible manner of recruitment is being studied to respond to fluctuations within the asylum services,” the press release added.
