Belgium will officially send at least two skateboarders to the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where the sport will be included for the first time.
While she fell short of qualifying for the final of the Street Skateboarding World Championship, Lore Bruggeman’s 15th place means she qualifies for the Olympic Games.
“Placed for the Olympics,” She posted on Instagram.

Bruggeman will be joined by Axel Cruysberghs, who placed 17th in the competition in Rome.
Skateboarding was meant to make its debut appearance at the Summer Olympics in 2020 in Tokyo. It has also been provisionally approved by the IOC for inclusion at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
