Cleaner victim of acid attack at entrance to supermarket in Antwerp

A 52-year-old cleaning lady was attacked with some form of acid on Friday morning in Antwerp, say local police. It is still unsure if the victim will pull through. The person responsible has not yet been caught.
The assault happened as the woman was about to enter a Delhaize supermarket to start her cleaning job before the store opened.
The incident occurred around 7:30am in the supermarket entrance hall in Museumstraat. The assailant threw acid product over the victim before running from the scene. The victim suffered severe burns and also internal injuries.
Police are investigating the facts and will be checking CCTV footage from Delhaize and the surrounding area.
