Liège: suspect in April murder of prostitute confesses

A man was arrested by police on Monday in connection with the investigation into the murder of a 41-year-old Liège inhabitant found dead in Vertbois on April 17th this year. The man was interrogated by investigators and confessed. He explained that, in the middle of sexual relations with the prostitute, he suddenly felt driven to strangle her, which he then proceeded to do. The woman was found by a homeless man on April 17th at around 6:00am. The man called the police. The investigation targeted the sex trade and analysis of the victim’s mobile phone records (her phone had been stolen) enabled investigators to identify a suspect. The man was taken in for questioning on Monday and confessed to strangling her. He appeared before the investigating judge on Tuesday.
