A second Sealion pup is born in Boudewijn Seapark in Bruges

Two Sealion pups have been born in Bruges’ Boudewijn Seapark in less than a week, the Park announced on Tuesday. The second pup was born in the Bruges Park on Friday. The mother, “Mama ZaZou”, and her baby are both doing fine. The first pup was born to 9 year old Mum Babiche and 17 year old Dad Fernandez last Wednesday. The parents arrived from Amsterdam Zoo in 2013, to join the reproduction program. The last Sealion birth at the park before these two was in 2011.

The two pups have the same father. It is not yet known whether they are male or female. They are Californian Sealions. A mother Sealion’s pregnancy lasts around 11 months.
