Specific emergency numbers for text messages momentarily unavailable

Specific numbers for deaf or hard-of-hearing people, or for people with speech impediments, allowing them to use text messages to request emergency help from fire services, a medical team, or the police, are momentarily unavailable, revealed the Home Secretary in a press release on Wednesday. Emergency numbers 112, 100, and 101 are still available for voice communication. Non-speakers are invited to contact emergency services by fax (using the 112, 100, or 101 numbers), or to get help from someone who can call emergency services, adds the Home Office.

Deaf and hearing-impaired people as well as those suffering from a speech impediment can ask for specific numbers to text emergency services since February 15th.
