Angry farmers were still blocking the French A6 motorway near Lyon on Thursday morning, a stretch of road used by a lot of tourists. Two roadblocks were set up on Wednesday evening. A roadblock was set up near Limonest on the road heading south, and the farmers also blocked the motorway near Chasse-sur-Rhône heading north. Several national roads in the region were also blocked, possibly blocking alternative routes too.
Traffic along the Brussels-Mons-Valenciennes E19 motorway near Hensies was disrupted in both directions on Wednesday evening. French farmers put up a filtering roadblock near the border control point, federal police said.
