More than three-quarters of Belgians think that taxes should be lowered, while 80% of citizens think taxes on large fortunes should be increased, according to a study by Louvain professors Swyngedouw, Abts and Meuleman. It was reported by De Standaard on Friday.
Most Flemish and Walloons think that large incomes, company profits, shareholders and polluters should be more heavily taxed.
This inquest was done by the KUL’s Social and Political Research Institute (Ispo) between the 2nd of October 2014 and the 6th of June 2015. In total, it involved 1,183 Flemish electors and 716 and French-speaking electors.
