An apartment building in the centre of Huy was evacuated in the early hours of Sunday morning, due to a fire. A resident suffered smoke inhalation, and was taken to the Huy regional hospital.
The fire started on the second floor at around 1.30am on Sunday morning. The building is in the rue de l’hôpital in Huy.
The building’s occupants were evacuated as a precaution. A café on the Grand Place was used to accommodate them. The medical intervention plan was instigated.
One of the residents on the second floor suffered smoke inhalation, but remained conscious. They were transported to Huy hospital.
It is not yet known what caused the fire.
