‘Expats are a specific target group’, says Monique Swinnen, deputy for tourism. ‘They are international employees who have settled themselves temporarily in and around Brussels, so also in our region. We want to motivate them to come and discover Flemish Brabant. Expats are neither international tourists nor typical locals and therefore demand for a particular approach. With this brochure, we want to introduce them to the versatility of Flemish Brabant as a surprisingly green area in very close proximity of the capital.’
Fascinating stories, useful trip tips and attractive images should inspire expats to discover Flemish Brabant to the fullest. Unique about the ‘expat brochure’ is that it is based upon the experiences of six bloggers with proven social influence in the expat community in Belgium: Wondrous Wanders, Culture Trip Brussels, CheeseWeb, Wonderful Wanderings, S Marks The Spots and Discovering Belgium. They headed off to discover some unspoiled parts of Flemish Brabant and, in the brochure, share their tips to get the most out of a trip to this green area around Brussels.
“I was truly amazed about how extensive the walking routes in Flemish Brabant are. One could literally walk for days and still haven’t covered them all.” commented Sofie from Wonderful Wanderings.
The brochure will be made available for free via municipal welcome services, relation agencies, international employers, and other expat-specific places. To view a digital version of the brochure you can go to the following link.
