Brussels Airlines pilots threaten tougher action

Pilots at Brussels Airlines will step up their ad hoc protests if management does not address their demands by next week, Paul Buekenhout of the LBC trade union warns. The pilots accused management of not budging on a series of demands, related mainly to flying time and pensions. “The pilots, too, would like to benefit from the favourable wind that is blowing on Brussels Airlines,” Buekenhout explained.

A series of specific ad-hoc actions the pilots launched last week continued this week, but at a slower rhythm. They have not affected the airline’s flights.

Unions and management meet again next week. “The ad-hoc actions are a first signal,” the pilots say. “If management fails to listen to us, it is not to be ruled out that we might toughen our stance,” the pilots warned.
