The consumption of running water in Flanders has decreased by 7% since several provinces have imposed conservation measures. However, it is nevertheless still 20% higher than the average for a standard July. The finding is indicated by the overarching association, AquaFlanders, after a survey of distribution companies.
The Director-General, Carl Heyrman, stated, “We are repeating our call to ensure sparing use of drinking water, and to observe the measures taken by the province’s governors.”
