A cloudy and wet weekend expected in Belgium

A cloudy and wet weekend expected in Belgium

On Friday afternoon, it will be partly cloudy and dry at first, but it is not set to last.  By the end of the afternoon, there may be a few showers locally, with the chance of some thunder later, the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) said. Highs will be between 12° in Hautes Fagnes and 16° to 17° from the centre to the west of the country. The wind will be moderate from the south-west.

On Friday evening, it will be partly cloudy with some isolated showers, later punctuated by thunder. During the night, it will cloud over and rain will come in from the west. Minimum temperatures will vary between 5° and 10°. The wind will be slight to moderate then moderate, quite strong at sea, from the south to south-west.

On Saturday, there will still be rain in the centre and until mid-day in the east. Unsettled weather will follow from the west, with continuous showers at times and the risk of storms. Highs will vary from 7° in Hautes Fagnes to 12-13° in the centre.

On Sunday, after an area of rain has cleared, the weather will remain unsettled with a few bright patches but also thundery showers. Maximum temperatures will fall between 5° or 6° on the Ardennes heights and 11° or 12° in low-lying areas.

The IRM points out the weather will improve on Tuesday with some sunny spells.
