School heads wish to focus upon their educational duties. The excessive number of tasks, which school heads within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation have to carry out is stopping them from successfully completing their educational tasks. So reveals a study produced by the Fondation Roi Baudouin, the main conclusions of which were published in Le Soir on Monday. Appearing amongst the main grievances made by school heads, within both primary and secondary education, is the consequential shortage of time for carrying out many tasks, in particular administrative ones, the lack of resources for educational projects or even the potential for teachers to be resistant to proposed changes.
The lack of vision in most schools as well as the permanent conflict between school heads, teachers and parents, which can lead to burn out in some cases, were also advanced in the Fondation’s study as amongst the difficulties which heads encounter.
