Ghent Volvo lorry plant advertises for 150 workers

The Volvo lorry factory is looking to take on 150 new workers to increase production as of march 2016, plant spokeswoman Vera Bostijn has indicated. The factory, largest assembly site for Volvo Group Trucks in Europe and the largest global group distribution centre celebrated its forty-year presence in Oostakker in October. At the time, 3,500 workers were assembling 168 HGVs per day.

According to Volvo Group Trucks Operations, truck sales are on the rise. “We intend to increase our production from March onwards,” stresses the manufacturer. The 150 new workers will be allocated to production or handling within several sections of the factory.
