Intentional Fire in Brussels: Man Who Jumped from Window Dead

Man aged 45 who on May 25th jumped out of the window of his home on du Pont de l'Avenue Street in Brussels escaping flames died as a result of injuries. His wife, aged 41, on her part, was charged with arson of an inhabited building causing the injury of one person, stated the Prosecutor’s Office of Brussels on Tuesday.

Firefighters quickly presented the theory of a criminal fire, with several locations where fires had been started having been detected inside the burning apartment of the building on du Pont de l'Avenue Street.

The spouse of the victim willingly appeared before the police the day following the events and admitted having deliberately set fire to their apartment. An arrest warrant was issued against her and the deliberating council of the court confirmed this issuance.

The victim died on the night of the 26th to the 27th of May.
