A man in his forties was arrested in Namur on Saturday morning for extorting money from a vulnerable person, the Namur Prosecutor’s office has revealed. The suspect took advantage of the victim’s mental handicap to extort money from him with threats. The victim was born in 1992.
It’s the second time the suspect has done this to the victim, as the same thing happened back in November. The victim reported that incident and the suspect received a warning, but was acquitted. After the second report, the police tracked the suspect down and arrested him.
He was questioned by an instruction judge on Sunday.
