Groupe Bertrand, which recently bought French company Quick, is selling the Belgian side of the hamburger chain. Lazard business bank will deal with the operation, reveals daily L'Echo on Friay. Qualium sold Quick to Groupe Bertrand, majority shareholder of Burger King France and main franchisor of the American fast food restaurants in Belgium, at the end of last year.
Groupe Bertrand aims to turn the 400 French Quick restaurants into Burger Kings and obviously wants to focus solely on France. It is probably also hoping to reduce its liabilities by selling Quick’s Belgian restaurants.
