Retaliatory measures taken by the European Union (EU) against certain U.S. products in response to Washington's taxes on steel and aluminium became effective today, Friday, at 00:00 hours Brussels Time (22 :00 GMT on Thursday) The measures target goods such as jeans, bourbon and motorcycles.
The list of U.S. goods that will now be hit by higher taxes – generally 25% higher – in EU countries was published on Thursday in the EU’s official gazette, for implementation on the following day, Friday.
