€220 million: Largest ever lottery prize in Europe won in France

A record-breaking €220 million Euromillions jackpot was won on Friday by a player in France, the French gaming authority (FDJ) has announced.

The lucky winner now has 60 days to report to FDJ and collect his or her prize, which is the biggest jackpot in the history of the European lottery since its creation in 2004, Belga News Agency reports.

The winner played the winning combination 21 26 31 34 34 49 and the star numbers 2 and 5.

The previous super jackpot was won in Switzerland with a prize of €210 million, as recently as 26 February 2021.
