France has stepped up security at synagogues and Jewish schools in France, particularly in Paris and its suburbs, following the attack launched against Israel by Palestinian Hamas from the Gaza Strip, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced on Saturday.
At the request of President Emmanuel Macron, "we have already given orders to the prefects to protect community sites, and as soon as I return to Paris, I will chair a security meeting to find out what difficulties we could have on national soil," Gérald Darmanin said during a trip to Toulouse, adding that there was currently "no threat".
