American rapper Snoop Dogg is set to commentate on the Paris Olympics for NBC, the US broadcaster announced.

Famous for tracks such as 'Drop it like it's Hot', the 52-year-old artist had previously undertaken this role during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Along with comedian Kevin Hart, he was part of the 'Olympic Highlight with Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg' programme on Peacock TV, part of the NBC group. Their witty commentary on outfits was particularly well received.

Snoop Dogg's duties will include providing summaries, attending competitions, meeting athletes and their relatives, and exploring the host city's tourist sites.

"As a youngster, I used to watch the Olympics and found it impressive to see these incredible athletes give their all. It's a celebration of skill, dedication and the pursuit of greatness," commented Snoop Dogg. "These will be the most epic Olympics of all time."

In November, the rapper recorded promotional videos featuring American athletes for the Games.

Also known for his cannabis use, the rapper has sold millions of albums, performed during the Super Bowl half-time show, and appeared in a number of films. He has additionally played the host role, including for the American version of Eurovision.
