Three bodies have been discovered in a house in Zwiesel, Bavaria, just a few kilometres from the Czech border.
A 37-year-old man was arrested in Linz, northern Austria, on Monday, according to a police spokesperson.
The man turned himself in to Austrian police on Monday afternoon, stating that he had killed three people.
He has been arrested and is expected to be extradited to Germany.
It is currently unknown whether the suspect knew the victims or what the potential motive might be.
