Dutch nightclubs opened their doors on Saturday in a coordinated “De Nacht staat op” (The Night Rises) protest action, defying current governmental health measures still in place.
Nightclubs throughout several cities in the Netherlands participated in the protest.
In Amsterdam, hundreds of revellers were queuing to get in to the popular AIR club, Belga news agency reports. The same was true in Rotterdam, where clubgoers headed to Annabel, Perron and Reverse.
In Tilburg, the party continued in Poppodium 013 despite a hefty Є10,000 fine inflicted by authorities for defying the measures. The nightclub had sold 1,400 entrance tickets.
