About 494 migrants arrived in the United Kingdom on Thursday in the first successful Channel crossings in 10 days.
The arrivals marked an end to a 10-day pause in successful small-boat crossings across the Channel. Even so, the number of migrants making the dangerous journey remains well below the levels seen in recent years.
So far this year, 16,391 migrants have reached the United Kingdom. That is 43% fewer than during the same period last year and 17% lower than at the same point in 2024.
