Belgian drowns in Lake Balaton in Hungary

Sunday, 22 July 2018 23:50
On Sunday, the Foreign Affairs Office confirmed a Belgian man drowned in Lake Balaton in Hungary on Friday.
They did not provide any information about how the accident happened.

Local media said the victim was a man in his fifties. He and some friends were sailing on the lake, which is in the West of Hungary. They had been swimming in the sea while drunk when the Belgian went missing. Unfortunately the friends were not able to give his exact location because the boat didn’t stop straight away. Authorities began searching for him but gave up on Saturday afternoon.
