A search was conducted on Monday morning at the Brico shop on the Avenue de Stalingrad in Brussels, and a further search in a storage room at the Gare du Midi.
This is according to information disseminated on Tuesday by the daily publication La Dernière Heure (DH). The Federal Prosecutor’s Office confirms that around ten searches were carried out on Monday in the Brussels region, as part of the case opened following the attacks in Brussels and Zaventem.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office states that several individuals were in custody, and taken into an in-depth hearing. The investigating judges specialised in terrorism, who are in charge of the file, will decide in the coming hours as to whether potentially these individuals should be charged, and indeed kept in custody.

DH said that the Brico search aimed to discover the quantity and the price of the acetone bought for the manufacture of the explosive TATP (triacetone triperoxide), used during the March 22nd attacks. The Federal Prosecutor's Office does not appear to want to communicate any additional information at this stage, not wishing to prejudice the investigation.
