Ludivine de Magnanville, former member of DéFI and former president of the the Brussels Horeca Foundation, has joined the ranks of MR, the party announced on Monday.

"I made the decision to join the Mouvement Réformateur (MR) because it represents the best vehicle for me to fulfil the projects that are close to my heart," she explained in a statement.

De Magnanville left the Horeca Foundation earlier this year to enter politics, and was elected to the Brussels Parliament in June, as the fourth name on the DéFI list drawn by Bernard Clerfayt.

"After careful consideration, it became clear that MR shares my vision for Brussels and that it is within this political family that I will be able to effectively convey the voice of those who have placed their trust in me. The MR offers a genuine platform for dialogue and action, where innovation and pragmatism serve the general interest," added De Magnanville.

"We are delighted to welcome Ludivine to MR. Her expertise and commitment to Brussels are undeniable, and we share a common vision for the future of our capital. I’m convinced our collaboration will benefit all Brusselers, as we continue to pursue the ambitious projects we share," commented the president of the MR, Georges-Louis Bouchez.

"Ludivine is a highly honest politician, with valuable experience for Brussels. Her decision to join the MR is recognition of our work and our resolution to build a strong future for the region," stated David Leisterh, president of the Brussels MR federation.

"This departure cannot be justified by the difficulty of being in opposition, especially since the Brussels government has not yet been formed! It's opportunism," newly elected DéFi president Sophie Rohonyi reacted on X.

"Elected thanks to the devolutive effect of the top position on the list, I am calling on Ludivine to return her mandate to DéFI," she concluded.
