Bruno Brel, the nephew of famous musician Jacques Brel, passed away on Saturday at the age of 73.
Following in his uncle’s footsteps, Bruno Brel had a successful music career. He also authored around ten books.
Bruno started singing at 16 in cabarets in Brussels and Paris. Over his 50-year career, he recorded several albums, including covers of Jacques Brel’s songs.
In 1994, he made his literary debut with the novel ‘Le Touareg Blanc’. In 2021, he published his autobiography ‘Le Neveu de Mon Oncle’, addressing comparisons between him and his uncle.
Born in Brussels, Bruno Brel had lived in Wellin, Luxembourg for the past four years. Before that, he spent several decades residing in France.
