A fire broke out at a former warehouse on Chaussée d'Anvers in Brussels on Thursday, according to the Brussels Fire Brigade spokesperson, Walter Derieuw.
The Brussels Fire Brigade arrived at the site of the fire at around 16:45. The black smoke from the fire was visible from a distance.

The building which used to serve as a warehouse was completely abandoned. The fire was tackled using water cannons mounted on ladder trucks and by firefighters on foot.

At around 20:30 on Thursday, the last hot spots on site were being cooled down. The fire did not spread to neighbouring buildings and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. The local Brussels police set up a security perimeter around the area.
