On Sunday, fighters from the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad launched rockets at Israeli border communities.
The group’s military wing, known as the Al-Quds Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attack on the kibbutzim Nachal Oz and Saad.
Earlier, the Israeli military reported that two rockets had been fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. The military attempted to intercept them with missile defence systems.
According to the Israeli news portal Ynet, one rocket was successfully intercepted, while the other landed near a cowshed in kibbutz Saad.
Since the conflict in Gaza began nearly two years ago, militants in the Gaza Strip have fired thousands of rockets at Israel. However, such attacks have become increasingly rare.
