German aerospace company Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg has dismissed one of its employees over alleged links to Russian intelligence and far-right activists.
The company, which serves the defence sector and the German military, says it is taking the situation seriously and has initiated an internal investigation. The employee in question has been suspended.
Following press reports, the company discovered that a member of its staff was accused of having ties to Russian and far-right circles. The employee was hired in 2011 and had access to sensitive strategic and security data, according to Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg.
