One person was hospitalised after inhaling smoke during a fire at a restaurant on Rue Verbist, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, late on Friday night.
The fire broke out around 23:40 in the restaurant’s extractor hood.
The restaurant owner extinguished the initial flames before emergency services arrived.
Firefighters later inspected the scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished, according to their spokesperson, Walter Derieuw.
The victim was transported to hospital via a basic ambulance service.
