From 2024, the bpost bank brand will be integrated into BNP Paribas Fortis, the two companies announced Friday in a joint statement.
In two years' time, the 308 current employees of bpost bank will join the teams of BNP Paribas Fortis, Belga News Agency reports.
“The bpost employees currently in charge of the bank's back office and helpdesk will remain an integral part of the bpost group,” the banks said.
Merging of customer bases
In concrete terms, this also means that BNP Paribas Fortis customers will be welcomed in the 657 post offices in Belgium, which will then serve a total of almost 1.5 million customers, according to the terms of the new commercial partnership between the two companies.

Currently, bpost bank has 600,000 customers.
For bpost bank and BNP Paribas Fortis customers, nothing will change until 1 January 2024, although the former will add a number of services to the existing offer in 2022 and 2023, such as new “non-life” insurance products, they note.
