A man in his fifties was critically injured on Monday after falling while carrying out repair work on the outside of the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, according to local police.
The man was working on repairs to the cathedral roof when the accident happened.
He was wearing a safety harness, but after the fall, he was left unconscious while suspended in it.
Firefighters freed the man before he was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
