Two vehicles caught on fire on Tuesday at a military site in Tielen, near Kasterlee in the Antwerp Campine, local police confirmed.
The warehouse in which the vehicles were located was also damaged.
Police said the fire was probably caused by a technical flaw.
A large plume of smoke rose from the site and was visible from far around the area.
Residents nearby were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.
The fire has since been completely extinguished.
