Police in Limburg have warned festivalgoers about fake Pukkelpop tickets being sold online, including through a Facebook group and a counterfeit ticket resale website.
The Limburg Regio Hoofdstad police issued the warning on Friday in a message on social media. They said scammers are offering false tickets through an online Facebook group and a fake Ticketswap-style website.
Police said several people have already fallen victim to the fraud.
Both the police and the festival organisers are urging people to buy tickets only through the official Pukkelpop website.
Festivalgoers who can no longer attend can resell their ticket at the original purchase price through Pukkelpop’s official exchange service.
According to the organisers, the platform serves as a virtual meeting place for people with an officially purchased personalised Pukkelpop ticket they no longer need and for buyers still looking for one.
