Two suspects were arrested following a shooting that took place in the early hours on Monday in Saint-Gilles, the Brussels-Midi police zone reported on Monday. One person was injured and taken to hospital.
Police were called at around 02:40 on Monday to a possible shooting on Chaussée de Forest. On arrival, officers found an injured person and administered first aid whilst awaiting the arrival of the emergency services.
The victim was then taken to hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
During initial searches of the neighbourhood, two suspects were arrested near the scene, the police said.
The investigation is ongoing. The Brussels-Midi police district has not released any further details at this stage.
This latest shooting follows three separate incidents involving gunfire that took place between Friday evening and Sunday morning in the Brussels-Midi area.
