Tram services on line 44 between Montgomery and Tervuren Station were suspended on Sunday after Storm Boelo damaged the overhead line when a tree fell on it on Saturday evening.
The damage occurred at about 22:20 on Saturday. Replacement buses have been deployed to serve the route.
Brussels public transport operator STIB said the damage was significant and that it hopes to restore the connection as quickly as possible.

Repairs to the overhead line are required and are likely to be carried out overnight, possibly because the power supply will need to be switched off. Weather conditions are also a factor.
With strong winds forecast again on Sunday evening, it remains unclear whether repair work can begin immediately. STIB said it is still awaiting confirmation of the exact timing.
A swift resumption of tram services is therefore not guaranteed. “We hope the tram can run again tomorrow, but we cannot confirm that,” STIB said.
If the tram connection is still suspended on Monday, replacement buses will continue to carry passengers.
Line 44 had already been disrupted on Friday after storm Austen caused damage to the overhead line. That damage was repaired on Saturday at about 8:00, but storm Boelo caused fresh damage at a different location later the same day.
