During the first weekend of the Tomorrowland festival, local police reportedly detained 16 drug dealers and 14 pickpockets.

On Tuesday, the Antwerp Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 16 drug traffickers had been arrested after 116 persons were searched for drug possession over the weekend.

Those summoned will have to appear in front of a criminal court on 26 October.

The Public Prosecutor's Office offered an out-of-court settlement for the 116 people who were found to be in the possession of drugs during the event. A €75 fine is to be paid immediately for those with soft drugs and €150 for hard drugs. The total amount of these fines was €14,475.

The substances discovered were then analysed by the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology (INCC), which discovered a significant concentration of MDMA in the pills distributed during the festival.
