The mayors of towns hosting the Tomorrowland festival are said to be 'pleased' following the event's third and final weekend.

Jeroen Baert, Mayor of Boom, and Jurgen Callaerts, Mayor of Rumst, both expressed their delight at the world-famous music festival, which they described as "unique" and "more magical than before."

For the first time in its history, the event was held over three weekends rather than the traditional two, as part of the festival relaunch after the pandemic.

While everything went well for the mayors this year, they still want the event to be held over two weeks next year in order to maintain momentum through 2023.

“Mobility and noise pollution remains our traditional focal points, with the new use of drones. Their added value has been clearly demonstrated, particularly in the context of fire prevention and crowd control. They represent an additional challenge that we would like to examine more closely with the aviation authorities in 2023,” they told Belga News Agency.

The festival's organisers had a good year as well, with Debby Wilmsen, a spokesperson for the event, thanking all of the local authorities as well as medical staff and "above all, the extraordinary and passionate commitment of all our employees, partners and suppliers, as well as the affection and trust of our neighbours, these three unique weekends have become more magical than ever.”

In total, over 600,000 people attended the event with around 38,000 festival-goers staying at the Dreamville campsite each week.
